Scissorpedia is an information website in the ShearAlliance. It is a reference site about hair scissors, not a store, so it is the place to learn about the tool itself, such as brands and terms, before you decide what to buy.
About the ShearAlliance
The ShearAlliance is an alliance whose members include retailers, brands and information websites such as Scissorpedia. It has other members we haven't named here. Its own site is shearalliance.org. As of 3 November 2026 the site is offline and is expected to be live again within a couple of days. This page is our own list of the members we send readers to, not the alliance's.
Who runs these stores
SalonScissors, BarberScissors, JapanShears, Japan Scissors and Scissor Hub are run by the same seller: Nippon Shears Pty Ltd ACN 641 863 578 acting as trustee for The Adams Scissor Trust ABN 68 501 252 754. That is one seller behind five storefronts, so treat them as one seller's range, not as second opinions on each other.
Terms of sale: SalonScissors, BarberScissors, JapanShears, Japan Scissors and Scissor Hub. The members outside Australia are fellow ShearAlliance members.
