Set or single scissors?

  • Buy a set when you need a cutter and a thinner at the same time, for a course kit list or a new station.
  • Buy a single when you already own a cutter you like. Add a single thinning scissor.
  • Need two cutters and a thinner? Compare the three-piece master sets.
  • Check the option name. It lists the hand, the cutter size and the thinner, so you know exactly what arrives.

Common questions

Is a set cheaper than two single scissors?

Often, yes. The Mina Umi and Ichiro Ergo sets, for example, cost less than their cutter and thinner bought separately. If you already have a cutter you like, buy a single thinner instead.

Are both scissors the same size?

Not always. Many sets pair a 5.5" or 6.0" cutter with a 6.0" thinner, and some let you choose the cutter size. The option name on the product page lists both.

Does a set come with a case?

Some do. The product page lists exactly what's in the box.

Are there left-handed sets?

Yes. The Mina Umi and Mina Rainbow II sets have left-handed options, and the Ichiro Rose Lefty set pairs a left-handed 6.0" cutter and thinner.
