Yamato is a Japanese scissor brand, made at the Fuji MoreZ plant in Sakai, its distributor says. We don't stock it, so here's what to check before buying.
We haven’t found an official Yamato maker site, so we can’t link its specs. Its European distributor says Yamato scissors are made at the Fuji MoreZ plant in Sakai, the same plant as Fuji.
What’s in the Yamato range?
Cobalt-alloy cutters such as the Royal, Sevian and Wing N, plus the FB thinning series. You’ll find them in specialist shops in the UK and Ireland.

With no maker specs to check against, ask the seller for these in writing:
- the model name, size, hand and steel;
- who sharpens it in Australia;
- the returns, before the pair touches hair.
