Prepare Salon Scissors for a Sharpening Service
Clean, document and pack a scissor before handing it to a sharpening technician.
A clear note helps your technician work on the right problem without guessing how the shear was used.
Before the appointment
- Wipe away hair and product, then dry the scissor.
- Note where it catches or drags: at the heel, through the middle or near the tip.
- Record the model, size, edge type if known, and any recent drop or tension change.
- Photograph visible damage and keep the images with your maintenance log.
Pack and explain
Close the blades and use an individual sleeve or case so they do not rub against other tools. Tell the technician whether the shear is a cutter, thinner or texturiser; tooth work and smooth cutting edges need different attention. Ask what they plan to do if they find a chip, bend or alignment problem.
