Yasaka and Joewell are both Japanese makers with classic and offset cutters. Choose by the cut you do most, not the name on the blade.

All three are 5.5” with level rings, but the blades differ: a convex slice edge, a flat bevel and a slim convex blade.
Best for: slicing on a classic straight handle

The inch size measures the whole scissor. The blade is what reaches into the section, and the makers list different lengths:

Yasaka’s KM has a 3D offset handle and ATS314 cobalt stainless steel, in 5.5”, 6.0” and 6.5”. Joewell’s FX PRO pairs a 3D offset grip with a Sword Flat blade, in 5.0”, 5.5” and 6.0”.
Our pick: the Yasaka KM, for an offset at the lower price. Keep in mind: a 3D offset sits your thumb lower than level rings, so it’ll feel different from a classic pair at first.

Both makers build true left-handed cutters. Yasaka’s comes in 5.0”, 5.5” and 6.0” with an offset handle. Joewell has three: the LC LEFTY with level rings in 5.0” or 5.5”, the FX LEFTY with its 3D offset grip in 5.5”, and the long LSF Lefty in 6.5” or 7.0”.
Our pick: the Yasaka Left-Handed if you cut offset, for the size choice and the price. Learned on level rings? The LC LEFTY keeps that classic layout. Keep in mind: the FX LEFTY is the only left-handed Joewell with the 3D grip.

Neither is better across the board. Joewell gives you more lengths in the Classic and a slim detail blade in the Classic PRO. Yasaka costs less for the SA Classic, the KM offset and its left-handed cutters.
Yasaka, for right-handers: its 7.0” cutter has a semi-offset handle for over-comb work. Left-handed barbers can look at the Joewell LSF Lefty in 6.5” or 7.0”.
The Classic and Classic PRO listings don’t give a hand, so ask us before you order. For a listed left-handed Joewell with level rings, like the Classic, choose the LC LEFTY.
