What the label means

Powder metallurgy describes a way of making steel from fine metal powder. It is a manufacturing route, not a single grade or a guarantee about how a scissor will cut. Makers still choose the alloy, blade design, heat treatment and finish.

A premium blade still needs the right length and handle for your work. If you already have a good everyday cutter, a specialist length or thinner may be a more useful addition than replacing it with a powder steel pair.
