Read the core and the pattern separately
Damascus describes a layered or patterned construction. The visible pattern makes a scissor distinctive, but it does not tell you the cutting steel or edge shape by itself. Check the individual listing for the core, blade profile and selected size.
Compare the patterned models in the Kasho and Juntetsu ranges. Look at the handle and cutting purpose first; choose the finish because you will enjoy using and looking after it.
Care for the working edge
Wipe away product, dry the blades and keep them in a case so the edge and finish avoid knocks. When the pair begins to pull hair, ask a technician familiar with its construction and edge to assess it. Do not choose a sharpening date from the pattern alone.
