How to Inspect Premium Scissors When They Arrive
A simple arrival check for new salon scissors: confirm the selected size and contents, inspect the blades and document any concern before use.
Before the first cut
Keep the order confirmation nearby and check the selected model, hand orientation and length against the scissors you received. Photograph the packaging and tools before you remove any tags or use the shears. If the listing promised a case or accessory, compare the contents with that specific order.
Look over the shears
In good light, inspect both blades, tips, handle finish and pivot. Look for a visible chip, bend, loose part or damage from transit. Open and close the shears gently without cutting hair. The movement should be free of obvious grinding or catching; a new shear may still need its normal setup before work.
Do not try to fix a suspected defect by sharpening or changing the tension first. Take clear photos and use the contact form so the store can review what arrived.
Record the starting condition
Note the date, model, size and any serial number shown on the tool or paperwork. Store the shears clean and dry in their case until you are ready to use them.
