Common questions
How often should salon scissors be sharpened?
About every 6 to 12 months for a working pair. Joewell suggests a service every 6 months to a year and Kasho about once a year.
Do I need to oil my scissors?
If your maker says to. Kasho says daily, Joewell after you disinfect, and some pivots need no oil at all.
What should I do when my scissors fold hair?
Clean them, then do the tension check. If the tension’s right and they still fold hair, book a sharpen.
